FACT VS FICTION (1).png

FICTION: "No municipal property tax increase for the next 5 years!" -King Onderko's October 2023 Failing for Manville Party campaign mailer

FACT: The Council introduced a budget that will raise taxes $196,164.51 in 2024.

“At a time where our town has been devastated by flooding and the Biden economy has left us broke, it is shameful that the Council is raising taxes after promising residents there would be no tax increases for five years.”

-Tina Lazzeri

FICTION: Lukac filed false forgery charges against the Mayor, and the case was dismissed.

FACT:  Lukac reported a forgery of the former Borough Administrator's signature to the Manville Police after the Administrator brought it to his attention. The Borough Administrator offered his theory on who forged his signature to the Manville Police: "Caminiti suggested that Onderko possibly placed his signature on this form electronically prior to the Mayor's election in an attempt to get more votes from the local fire departments." The investigation is inactive but not closed. Click HERE to read the full Manville Police Incident Report.

FICTION: The Failing For Manville Party are Republicans running off the line.

FACT: The Failing for Manville Party has abandoned the Republican Party and is doing their best to destroy the Manville GOP. In fact, they have had a long history of running against the GOP. Ted Petrock was the longtime Democrat Party Chairman, and was elected to the Council as a Democrat. In 2006, Rich Onderko handed the election to Petrock and the Democrats by running as an Independent. In 2016, a write-in candidacy promoted by Onderko handed the election to the Democrats.

In 2023, after losing the support of the Manville Republican Municipal Committee to Joe Lukac in a 9-4 vote, rather than face Republican primary voters, Onderko ran AGAINST the Republican Party in the general election, and ran two candidates for Council (both also former Democrats) with him against our Republican candidates. This year, the Republican Committee unanimously voted to REMOVE Petrock, Onderko and Camacho for running against the Republican Party, in a clear violation of Manville GOP By-Laws. Camacho's own voting district then voted her OUT from the Republican Committee in the 2024 primary. Onderko filed a petition to run two more Failing For Manville Party candidates, one a long-time Democrat chairman, against the Republican Party in 2024. Joe Lukac and Tina Lazzeri are PROUD REPUBLICANS who never once looked back after joining our Republican Cause.

In 2006, Onderko ran Independent and handed the election to Petrock and the Democrats so they could keep ruining our town.

In 2016, Onderko promoted a write-in candidacy against the Republican nominees in the general election, handing the election to the Democrats once again.

FICTION: Lukac was sued for a payout of taxpayer funds.

FACT: After 4 out of 6 Council members voted to fire the Borough Administrator (a personal friend of the Mayor's), she sued the town for wrongful termination. Insurance covered the settlement, not taxpayers. She was later fired from her following job in another town for the same reason she was fired in Manville. Our Mayor then brought a completely frivolous suit against the Council because he disagreed with our vote.

“After running this smear campaign against me last year, my political opponents at town hall even tried to set me up by “forgetting” to remove me from the payroll after my term ended while remembering to remove my running mate whose term expired at the same time. No matter how much they try to smear me, I will never stop fighting for the residents of our town.”

FICTION: Lukac switched parties after being accused of stealing Democrat party funds.

FACT: A political opponent falsely accused Joe for politically motivated reasons and Joe was completely exonerated after an investigation by the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office in 2011.

“Like a majority of Manville residents including my opponent and 5 out of our 6 Council members, I didn’t leave the Democrat Party, the Democrat Party left me with their extreme policies that have left hardworking Americans broke. Since I became Manville Republican Chairman in 2016, Manville Republicans have been more successful than ever before. Through tenacious campaigning and taking our conservative message to working citizens, our formerly solid Democrat town was President Trump’s strongest town in Somerset County.”
